Many women seek consultation to correct loose skin in their upper arms which causes them embarrassment and prompts them to wear long sleeves. This can be caused by extra fat or most commonly, loose skin, particularly after weight loss. The skin has lost its elasticity and requires a lift to tighten it. The arm lift reduces the excess skin and fat resulting in a smoother shape, and a better proportion. The excess tissue is usually removed via an incision that extends from the armpit to the elbow on the inside of the arm. When the problem is primarily caused by fat, liposuction my offer a reasonable alternative. An armlift is performed as an outpatient procedure. There may be swelling and discomfort lasting several days.
