Fat reduction without the need for surgery is a reality. You no longer have to starve or work out several hours a day to improve the shape of your body. The term fat reduction encompasses a myriad of techniques and technologies. Patients look to fat reduction surgery to decrease and improve the contour of fatty deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise. Until now, fat reduction required surgery. That changed a few years ago with the introduction of several nonsurgical alternatives.
Coolsculpting and mesotherapy were the forerunners of our techniques today. Coolsculpting has withstood the test of time and produces consistent improvements in those trouble areas. The technology uses a reduction in temperature which selectively targets the fat. This reduction in temperature (which we sometimes call ”freezing the fat”) renders the fat nonviable and it is naturally removed from the body without surgery or downtime. We have the ability to improve the contour of multiple different body areas by simply changing the applicator we are using.
Mesotherapy disappeared for a few years, but has made a comeback in Kybella. Kybella is ideal for trouble spots such as the chin. It is naturally found in the liver where it helps to digest fat. By harnessing the natural ability of Kybella (Deoxycholic Acid) we can dissolve the fat. This is done by injecting the Kybella into the submental area (double chin). The fat gradually disappears, leaving your whole face looking thinner and you looking younger. Usually 2-4 treatments are needed for the best results.
Other technologies using lasers are claiming to be successful at non invasive fat reduction but do not have the track record or the diversification of Coolsculpting or Kybella. Both of these technologies consistently and reliably reduce the extra fat resulting in improved contours and ultimately in improved self esteem or feeling better about yourself.
