Women and men are continuously looking for less invasive ways to keep their faces looking as young and lively as they feel. Unfortunately, as you age, your body produces less collagen (the body’s structural protein), which, over time, causes the onset of wrinkles, the loss of your high cheekbones, and the development of jowls. Reduce the signs of aging and the loss of collagen with Radiesse treatments in New Jersey. Radiesse is a volumizing filler that temporarily fills deep creases or hollows and stimulates the body to produce more collagen, providing both instant and lasting results.
Board Certified Female Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Beverly Friedlander
Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler that is used to improve deeper folds and wrinkles, such as the nasolabial folds, and to provide soft tissue augmentation of the cheeks and chin.
It provides fullness to facial contours. This injectable consists of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel scaffolding. While this gel gives immediate fullness, it also stimulates the body to produce new collagen, allowing for lasting improvement.
The results of these injections are often immediate and can last up to a year or more—longer than most other dermal fillers. Unlike hyaluronic-acid-based fillers, Radiesse’s CaHA microspheres stay in the treatment area longer, continuing to stimulate collagen production for lasting results and fewer touch-up treatments.
Beverly Friedlander, MD
Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, such as Restylane and JUVÉDERM, Radiesse stimulates natural collagen, continuing to work even after the scaffolding has been absorbed. Once the body absorbs an HA filler, there is nothing left to encourage collagen growth. Therefore, Radiesse tends to last longer, with results showing for up to a year or more. This means fewer touch-up appointments and more time enjoying your treatment’s revitalizing benefits.
Radiesse is not made from animal protein, making it a vegan-friendly option. And since this injectable is not animal-derived, there is little risk of an allergic reaction. This treatment has become a popular option for minimally invasive facial rejuvenation thanks to its long-lasting, natural-looking results and non-animal-based formulation.
Radiesse helps restore fullness deep in the tissues and increases elasticity and structural support, making it ideal for use in many facial areas. Ideal candidates for RADIESSE have sustained a decline of their collagen levels but are not ready for a surgical facelift. These candidates should be in good overall health and have realistic expectations of their results.
Radiesse is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, as its effects have not been well studied in these groups. If you have a history of severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, this treatment may not be recommended. We will spend time learning about your medical history to ensure that this treatment is a good fit for you.

Thinning Skin of the Hands: Radiesse isn't just for the face; it can also be used for hand rejuvenation. Injecting this treatment into the backs of the hands helps restore volume, minimize the visibility of tendons and veins, and improve the overall texture and appearance of aging hands.
To prepare for your Radiesse treatment, you should stop smoking and taking all blood-thinning medications and supplements, such as aspirin, NSAIDs, and some herbal supplements. These can increase the chance of bruising and other complications.
Your Radiesse Procedure
Radiesse volumizing filler is injected in the safety and comfort of Dr. Friedlander’s Short Hills, New Jersey, office. Radiesse contains lidocaine, a numbing agent, to provide comfort during the treatment. Topical anesthetics and ice can be applied for even greater comfort.
Before beginning your treatment, your face is thoroughly cleansed to ensure a safe and sterile injection process. A topical numbing cream may be applied to provide maximum comfort. The filler is injected into areas such as the cheeks, chin, nasolabial area, or jawline for soft tissue augmentation and wrinkle reduction. Additionally, these fillers can be injected into the hands for a more youthful appearance. The injection locations will be determined through collaboration with your provider regarding your specific goals and preferences. Depending on the number of areas treated, the appointment typically takes between thirty minutes and an hour.
The cost of Radiesse in New Jersey depends on the specifics of your individual treatment plan, including the locations where the filler is to be administered and the number of syringes needed. This treatment tends to cost slightly more than HA-based dermal fillers, but it also lasts longer, balancing out the cost over time. At your consultation, we will work with you to create a customized treatment plan and provide you with a breakdown of associated costs.

Radiesse was the first FDA-approved injectable available to help restore volume in the back of the hands. Typically, one Radiesse syringe is required on each hand for improvement. This addition helps provide smoother and more youthful hands.
Our New Jersey Radiesse patients can return to their normal activities (including work) immediately after their injections; however, they may wish to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours. Some individuals experience swelling at the injection sites, which will disappear over the following hours and days. Ice packs can be applied to help reduce swelling.
Injectable fillers like Radiesse are non-invasive and very safe; however, that does not mean that risks and side effects are not possible. While rare, it is possible for there to be some discomfort, bruising, redness, swelling and lumps at the facial injection sites. When injected into the hands, this treatment may cause bruising, swelling, redness, pain, itching, nodules, and lumps. While the bruising and swelling are usually mild, it may temporarily limit hand movement. Keeping your hands elevated after the treatment will help to reduce this.
The results of your Radiesse volumizing filler start to become visible immediately after the injections and continue to improve as more collagen is stimulated. Radiesse results typically last for up to one year, and injections can be repeated as necessary.
Radiesse volumizing filler can be used alone or alongside other facial rejuvenation treatments. Common combination treatments include:
