Each of our chemical peel treatments contains a synergistic combination of acids and exfoliating agents in safe concentrations for all skin types. Chemical Peels improve the skin by removing the damaged outer layers to reveal fresh, healthy skin hidden beneath. Our NJ chemical peels improve the skin’s texture, firmness, and tone with visible results after only one treatment. They are designed to treat various conditions, including photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scarring, and acne. Chemical Peels are non-invasive, penetrating the outer skin layers only, resulting in smoother, tighter-looking skin without surgery or downtime.

Chemical peels provide deeper skin exfoliation to remove damaged cells and create a more youthful appearance. Lighter peels can be performed in other areas, such as the neck, décolletage, chest, hands, and arms. Deeper peels can safely be performed on the face.
If you have been considering a chemical peel but are unsure, this chemical peel is for you. Consisting of a combination of mild alpha and beta hydroxy acids such as salicylic, citric, and lactic acids, it will reduce fine lines and wrinkles, improve acne and pore appearance, and reduce pigmentation by gently exfoliating the skin and stimulating new collagen. The result is an improvement in skin tone, texture, and clarity, without any downtime. This peel results in a glowing complexion, perfect for that glam night out. It is safe for all skin types and colors.
Micropeel Sensitive Skin Solution is an optimal starter chemical peel as it is suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive rosacea-prone skin. This mild clinical-grade peel gently exfoliates and decongests pores while hydrating the skin. This peel provides greater improvement when paired with dermaplaning and is safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding patients.
The Reve Peel, one of the strongest anti-aging peels on the market, will leave your skin looking smooth and radiant with only 1-2 treatments. With their unique blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid, and TCA in a proprietary oil base, the Reve Peel and the milder Reve Peel Freshe, improve fine lines, wrinkles, and mild hyperpigmentation and will help to improve acne scars. Peeling typically occurs in 3-5 days. The use of both pre and post-peel products helps you to achieve optimal results in as little as 1 to 2 weeks. They can also be used on the neck, décolleté, chest, arms, and hands.
The Enlighten Peel is an intensive mask treatment for those who struggle with melasma and dark pigmentation. This peel can only be found in medical spas due to its prescription strength retinol and hydroquinone, and it is safe for all skin types. This peel is unlike any other peel since it is applied as a mask, which remains on the skin for 8 to 12 hours before you wash it off. This is a very effective peel that includes easy home care instructions and products.
As a medium-depth peel, the VI Peel penetrates your top layer of skin to exfoliate and stimulate natural healing. Your aesthetic expert uses this peel to improve your skin texture, treat signs of aging, and address pigmentation concerns. Dr. Bev performs all TCA chemical peels and recommends it for patients with dark circles and fine lines under their eyes, but it works great for patients suffering from melasma or acne scarring. Look refreshed and radiant with a TCA chemical peel from True Beauty Med Spa.
The chemical peels offered at True Beauty Med Spa are designed to address your skin concerns and provide dramatic skin improvement. With our chemical peels New Jersey patients can see the following benefits following treatment:
Chemical peels are not a one-size-fits-all treatment, which is why your aesthetic expert will determine the ideal strength to best meet your needs. Your chemical peel can be completed on the same day as your consultation.
All of our professional chemical peels will refresh and rejuvenate your skin, but each type has specific benefits and may work best for certain skin types or concerns. At your consultation, we will examine your skin, ask you about your cosmetic goals, and help you select the peel that will provide the most comprehensive results while fitting your needs and preferences.
You may need to avoid the use of products like retinoids for a short period of time before your appointment. Because the treatment will cause your skin to visibly peel as it turns over new skin cells, you should not schedule it immediately before an important event. You will also need to avoid sun exposure during the peeling and healing process and should plan your treatment accordingly. We will go over these details at your consultation to ensure your peel is performed under optimal conditions to provide beautiful results.
You will recline comfortably for your New Jersey chemical peel treatment. After cleansing your skin, your aesthetic provider will carefully apply your chosen peel, which will immediately begin to act on the skin. They may apply one or more layers of the peeling agent in different areas, tailoring the treatment around your skin type and goals.
This process takes about 30 minutes to one hour. For deeper peels, sedation may be administered to ensure your comfort, but most peels do not require this. It is normal to feel a burning or tingling sensation as the chemical agent is applied, but this is typically very tolerable. For some peels, your aesthetic specialist will apply a neutralizing agent before you leave. When your treatment is complete, you will be given aftercare instructions on caring for your skin as the peel goes to work in the upcoming days.
It is normal for your skin to be red and sensitive after your treatment. Within a few days, you will see the top layer of dull skin cells begin to peel and slough off. The timing and length of these symptoms can vary depending on the type of peel you have. We will provide all of the information you need to help you care for your healing skin and make a successful recovery.
Common aftercare guidelines include using a gentle cleanser and moisturizer, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight, and applying a topical cream or ointment. As the peeling process finishes, you will see smoother, more youthful-looking skin emerge. Because the peel will also boost the production of collagen, you will likely continue to see further improvements over the coming weeks and months, with your skin appearing more even, toned, and youthful. In some cases, a series of peels may be recommended, with time between for healing. Your aesthetic specialist will collaborate with you to create the perfect treatment for your needs.

The cost of a chemical peel varies based on the type of chemical peel and whether related treatments are performed simultaneously. While a single peel delivers noticeable benefits, a series of skin peels may be needed for optimal results.
There are different levels of peels. The ZO stimulator peel has no downtime or peeling. Deeper peels stimulate cellular turnover resulting in peeling that begins three to four days after the procedure and lasts about two days. Light peeling may continue for another day or two. Healing depends on your skin type and the type of peel used.
The best results are achieved with a series of three to four treatments spaced four to six weeks apart.
A chemical peel cannot be used on inflamed skin or skin that is broken or diseased. If you have acne, your aesthetic expert can offer acne treatments to clear the bacteria and lessen the inflammation in your skin. Chemical peels are safe to use; however, some side effects include infection, scabbing, swelling, scarring, and hyperpigmentation issues. Furthermore, if you have a history of a viral infection such as Herpes, it is vital for you to discuss your options with your aesthetic expert. Antiviral medication can be prescribed to prevent a breakout after your chemical peel.
Light and moderate chemical peels are associated with little to no discomfort; however, deeper penetrating peels may cause patients to experience a tingling or burning sensation—similar to a severe sunburn. Depending on the type of peel, you may be able to apply a cold compress to alleviate the burning sensation. After your peel treatment, your skin must be protected from sun exposure for the first 24-48 hours, but sunscreen protection should be used daily.
Lighter chemical peels allow the application of makeup immediately afterward. With other peels, routine skincare products and makeup can be applied the day after the peel. Sunscreens SPF 30 or higher are essential thereafter. Retin A and exfoliating agents should not be used until you are completely healed.
The ZO Stimulator peel has little to no downtime. Your skin will feel refreshed and tingly. Just apply makeup and have fun. The VI Peel is well-tolerated, but there is some downtime because it stays on your face for four to six hours. Additionally, you can expect your skin to begin peeling about three days after your treatment.
Chemical peels can generally be used on any skin type. There is a slightly higher risk of side effects like hyperpigmentation in people with darker skin. You should not have a peel if your skin has an active infection or lesion. You should also avoid getting a peel if you are planning on spending time in the sun shortly after, as this can be detrimental to your skin’s healing and compromise the quality of your results. We will ask you questions about your skin type and medical history to help you decide on the best peel for your needs.
