While facial skin typically gets the most attention, the skin on your body is not exempt from undesirable age-related changes and pigmentation concerns.
Over the years, the skin on your neck, chest, back, legs, arms, hands, underarms, or bikini area can develop imperfections such as sun damage, acne, dullness, unevenness, scarring, or poor texture. For patients who want to resurface these areas, the revolutionary VI Peel for body skin can make a world of difference.
The experienced New Jersey VI peel body clinicians at True Beauty Med Spa will develop a customized plan to match your unique body skin concerns. Led by medical director Beverly Friedlander, MD, True Beauty Med Spa has helped thousands of patients to restore vibrance and smoothness to their skin with the latest face and body rejuvenation treatments, including VI Peel Body.
Resurface your skin from head to toe
Perhaps you had a chemical peel on your face in the past and had a fabulous result.
Like many patients, you may wonder if a chemical peel can refresh and rejuvenate the skin on areas of your body that have sun damage, dullness, fine wrinkles, scarring, rough texture, or post-acne marks. The trouble is that facial chemical peels only penetrate the outermost layer of skin, also known as the epidermis. The skin on your body is generally thicker than facial skin. In fact, it can be up to two to three times thicker. To see a similar result on the body typically requires a higher percentage of active peel ingredients.
That is where VI Peel comes in with their body peel variation. This medium-depth, medical-grade chemical peel is designed to improve skin discoloration and textural issues on nearly all areas of the body. Using a high concentration of powerful, skin-safe ingredients, VI Peel Body penetrates the skin on a deeper level to exfoliate the dead cells and trigger a natural renewal process, leaving the treated skin smooth, glowing, and even-toned.

VI Peel formulas contain a synergistic blend of active ingredients such as Alpha hydroxy acids (Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Mandelic Acid), Trichloroacetic Acid and Phenol. These acids work to restore vibrance and resiliency to the skin on multiple levels.
Perhaps you feel uncomfortable wearing your preferred clothing styles due to skin imperfections on your body. In that case, it may be time to consider a novel approach to skin resurfacing.

VI Peel products are suitable for nearly all skin types and tones, including sensitive skin.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have an active skin infection at the treatment site, this may delay the start of your treatment. Certain medical conditions, an allergy to phenol, or a history of keloid scarring may lead your provider at True Beauty Med Spa to suggest an alternative method of skin rejuvenation to ensure you don’t have an undesirable side effect.
How does it work?
After cleansing your skin, your True Beauty provider will apply the VI Peel liquid formulation with a sterile gauze pad.
The active ingredients will penetrate the upper skin layers and, at the same time, gently dissolve the dead skin cells. You may experience an intense tingling sensation, but you should not experience any true discomfort.

As you might have guessed, the VI Peel involves a healing period during which the treated skin will peel.
While there is no downtime, this process takes around seven days. Peeling generally begins a day or two after your New Jersey VI Peel Body treatment. Allow the flaking skin to slough away on its own; Picking at the skin can lead to an infection or scarring. Your skin will be more sensitive during this time, so we urge our patients to avoid intense sun and wear broad-spectrum sunscreen or protective clothing.

After the peeling stops, the treated skin will appear healthy, smooth, clarified, and taut with a vibrant glow that defies anything a facial can achieve.
Depending on the extent of your skin conditions, you may need one to four body peels for an optimal result.

Unlike other types of chemical peels, you do not need to do anything special to your skin to prepare it for treatment. Refrain from sun exposure, waxing, depilatories, AHAs, BHAs, and topical medications (such as prescription retinoids) that can cause skin thinning for at least a week before your peel.
While one body peel with VI Peel delivers noticeable improvements, patients with resistant skin concerns may find a series of two to four body peels yield the best results.
Facial peels and body peels work in a similar fashion, however, body peels are much stronger, penetrating deeper into the skin. The reason body peels, like VI Peel Body, need to have higher concentrations of their formulas is because the skin on the body is much thicker than on the face.
Facial peels require a less powerful formula because they are intended to work on very delicate and sensitive skin. Because the formula is less potent, it doesn’t penetrate the skin as deeply, only affecting the top layer (or epidermis).
In addition to the body-formulated VI Peel, we offer advanced skin rejuvenation treatments such as CryoCorrect, CO2 Laser, IPL Laser, Morpheus8 Body, and more. Our clinicians will provide personalized guidance to help you select the ideal treatments to target your skin concerns.
